The entire electronics can be assembled fast, easily and solder-free. All ECU-components are connected by ribbon cables and some power cables for higher current. The connection to the
cable drum is done via the MIL connector board. The video monitors and an extra external camera input, the control panels and the PS/2-keyboard can be connected to the wiring board which can be mounted either on in the front or rear panel of the control box housing. A computer can be connected via the USB interface with the system and receives the video signal for video recording from the wiring board.
The complete system can easily be adapted to different application scenarios by changes in the firmware of the onboards processors and has been used for camera inspection and
rehabilitation systems (also for upgrade and refurbishment of existing equipment). A crack repair robot and a unit for wear trend analysis of special supply lines in the mining industry are other applications the electronics have been used for.
